I was in the rural mountains of Haiti for two weeks to visit my family there. That experience has forever changed my life. Life in Haiti is real. You're in nature. There is interdependence between people, plants, and the animals. You can see the entire sky at night. Returning to the US feels like returning to a simulation. Life here feels unreal. People create their problems.
