Have you noticed how most villains in sci-fi movies are afraid of the sun? From classics like Near Dark and Daughters of Darkness, to more recent flicks like 30 Days of Night and Daybreakers, the common thread is an existential aversion to sunlight.
Wouldn't villians being afraid of the sun be an indicator that Hollywood writers *are* aware that the sun is good and is of rightfully huge importance in human culture?
For centuries villians in all Western mediums tend to be paler, more thin and hunched, and wear darker clothing. Grimm's and Shakespeare's witches, Moriarty, and Scrooge come to mind. To the extent that modern writers acknowledge this is (I think) the extent that they acknowledge that there's something innately wrong about staying away from the sun.
Hell, Mr. Burns' anti-sun plans were a cucial component of his whodunit episodes. :)
Hollywood doesn't want you to like the sun. Here is why.
As always another piece of magic! Thank you for your Max Magic🌟💜🌟💜🐕💜🌟
Loving the quote by Krishnamurti. I didn’t know that 👍🏼
I love this piece :) Thank you for sharing your writing!
So true and BRILLIANT as usual!
I do alot of these things, but working nights I’m kind of screwed with daylight. I go to the tanning salon tho, I eat well, and I have beautiful skin.
